Meanwhile, a businessman from Dubai is over here like, <em>\u201cGuys, it\u2019s not that hard.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enter Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, the CEO of Dubai-owned ports giant DP World. While speaking at the World Government Summit (because, yes, that\u2019s a real thing), Sulayem basically summed up Trump like he was reviewing <em>The Art of the Deal<\/em> on Amazon. And he nailed it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cFor Trump, he is looking for fair trade. Fair trade, not free trade\u2026 He said many times that if the American market is open, then he expects other countries to open their market.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Mic drop. Boom. Done. He cracked the Trump code while the rest of the world was still buffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a businessman. He wants to make a deal. He wants people to come to the table to discuss\u2026 So sometimes he comes with a with a very tough announcement, but what he wants is the people who listen to it to come and sit on the table to negotiate. At the end of the day, he wants to negotiate a deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>See? Trump isn\u2019t tweeting chaos for chaos\u2019s sake \u2014 he\u2019s just rattling the cage so folks will <em>actually<\/em> show up to talk business. Honestly, Sulayem could teach a course called \u201cTrump 101: Translate the Bluster.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, on Monday, Trump slapped a flat 25% tariff on steel and aluminum. Yes, even on imports from allies like Canada, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea\u2026 <em>and pretty much anyone else who sells us metal<\/em>. This move was designed to help U.S. industries \u2014 and also potentially ignite a global trade brawl. Trump is multitasking for American workers and businesses!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But President Trump was crystal clear on the point:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe move will simplify tariffs on the metals \u201cso that everyone can understand exactly what it means\u201d, Trump told reporters.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Translation: <em>No more fine print, no more loopholes \u2014 just big, beautiful tariffs.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, let\u2019s break down Sulayem\u2019s Trump analysis through the greatest business how-to ever written by a reality TV mogul: Donald Trump\u2019s, The Art of the Deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Think Big<\/strong><br>Trump emphasizes the importance of having bold, ambitious goals. He believes going big attracts attention, confidence, and better results. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maximize Options<\/strong><br>A good dealmaker always has alternatives. Trump stresses keeping multiple irons in the fire so you\u2019re never at someone else\u2019s mercy. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Know Your Market<\/strong><br>Success comes from understanding the value of properties, trends in the market, and recognizing opportunities where others don\u2019t. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use Leverage<\/strong><br>Power in negotiation comes from leverage\u2014having something the other party needs. Trump often used loans, media influence, and political relationships as leverage. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enhance Your Location<\/strong><br>Trump had a knack for identifying undervalued properties and boosting their value through renovations, branding, and strategic development. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Promote Aggressively<\/strong><br>He believes in controlling the narrative through media and marketing. Trump walks back some of those hefty tariffs and \u2014 BOOM \u2014 Wall Street goes into full-on fireworks mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately,\u201d Trump posted on his Truth Social.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And then the punchline:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cTrump, in the same post, said he was raising the tariff on China higher again to 125%.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>So\u2026 everyone <em>but<\/em> China got a break. China? They got benched \u2014 <em>hard<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent chimed in, just to clarify:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAll countries except China would return to the 10% baseline tariff rate, down from the higher rates that previously shocked the markets, as negotiations take place. The pause would not apply to sector tariffs,\u201d Bessent said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And the stock market? It reacted like it just chugged a Red Bull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>S&amp;P 500<\/strong>: Up 9.52%, biggest jump since 2008.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dow Jones<\/strong>: Up 2,962 points, or nearly 8%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nasdaq<\/strong>: Up 12.16%, second-best day <em>ever<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cGiven how depressed stock prices and sentiment had become, the 90-day pause is sparking a violent rebound, and delaying implementation certainly removes a giant overhang from the market,\u201d said Vital Knowledge founder Adam Crisafulli. \u201cBut \u2014 tariffs are not going away. China\u2019s tariff rate is now in triple digit territory, and who knows what happens in 90 days when this pause concludes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Translation: <em>Enjoy the sugar rush now, because Round 2 is coming.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While world leaders keep scratching their heads over Trump\u2019s every move, Sultan bin Sulayem is already out here decoding him like it\u2019s child\u2019s play. The man sees the strategy behind the chaos.
