Is China going to be allowed to take Taiwan, or is this a setup for a major global conflict? The last major global depression led to a world war, so is that the plan for this one as well? Consequently, war is a pretty powerful distraction, especially if the whole world is concerned about their survival, as people don&#8217;t think as clearly when overcome by fear. A PLA spokesman had described drills which &#8220;test the troops&#8217; capabilities&#8221; in areas such as &#8220;blockade and control, and precision strikes on key targets.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/portaiwwn.png?itok=rCwFoTD9\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chinese military further said it conducted &#8220;long-range live-fire drills&#8221;. China&#8217;s Shandong aircraft carrier was also spotted in regional waters testing its <strong>ability to&nbsp;&#8220;blockade&#8221; Taiwan<\/strong>, as part of the exercises dubbed&nbsp;&#8220;Strait Thunder-2025A&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beijing&#8217;s foreign ministry meanwhile on Wednesday declared the <strong>&#8220;punishment will not stop&#8221;<\/strong> if Taiwan leaders don&#8217;t halt their &#8216;separatist&#8217; rhetoric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional to the naval assets at sea, some 50 jets&nbsp;were involved in the drills, the biggest since early last year &#8211; to which Taiwan&#8217;s military responded by dispatching its own&nbsp;aircraft and ships, and land-based missile systems on coastal areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taiwan\u2019s Ministry of National Defense listed out the following Chinese military weaponry which was moved near Taiwan by early&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/04\/01\/world\/asia\/china-taiwan-military-drills.html\">afternoon<\/a>&nbsp;on the first day of the exercise: 71 sorties by military aircraft and drones, 21 navy ships ranged around the island, and the aforementioned Shandong carrier which was spotted about 220 nautical miles east of Taiwan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Eastern Theatre Command simultaneous to all of this had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/china-holds-huge-military-drills-multiple-directions-around-taiwan\">issued a brief video<\/a> calling Lai a &#8220;parasite&#8221;\u00a0in English, also depicting him as a green bug dangled by chopsticks over a burning Taiwan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taiwan officials blasted the drills as &#8220;reckless&#8221; and &#8220;irresponsible&#8221;.&nbsp;Taiwan&#8217;s military subsequently elevated its readiness level to ensure China does not &#8220;turn drills into combat&#8221; and&nbsp;&#8220;launch a sudden attack on us.&#8221;<a href=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/portstaiwan.png?itok=b57pG71d\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/portstaiwan.png?itok=b57pG71d\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/portstaiwan.png?itok=b57pG71d\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>China&#8217;s Foreign Ministry had at the week&#8217;s start called out Washington&#8217;s role in the Taiwan tensions, slamming US\u2019 use of &#8220;China threat&#8221; rhetoric which is bent on provoking confrontation, but which will end in regional countries being used as&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;cannon fodder&#8221; for US hegemony<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; according to a statement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the shifting away of chip production from Taiwan, you&#8217;d have to think it signaled that China taking Taiwan was in the works and possibly sanctioned.
