I want to know if they denounce their U.S. citizenship, because if you do, you have to consider all your holdings sold and pay capital gains taxes. Otherwise you still have to pay US taxes on income or on realized capital gains, as well as whatever obligations you have in your new country. (Anthony Harvey\/Getty)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A rep from Riskin Partners Estate Group told the outlet the home received \u201cmultiple offers\u201d since it was first listed and revealed the couple accepted an offer that was about $300,000 above asking price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in August 2024, the&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/real-estate\/luxury-homes\/ellen-degeneres-gets-96-million-for-blufftop-california-home-377db493?mod=real-estate_lead_pos4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wall Street Journal<\/a><\/em>&nbsp;reported DeGeneres and de Rossi sold their home in Santa Barbara County for some $96 million. The estate was scooped up by Singapore-based tycoon Robert Friedland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeGeneres, 67, and de Rossi, 52,&nbsp; decided to relocate to England in the wake of President Trump\u2019s election victory, as Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2024\/11\/20\/ellen-degeneres-leaves-united-states-flees-to-england-over-trump-election\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are not alone amongst the elites seeking to escape the U.S. and a Trump administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hollywood LGBTQ stars and others reportedly remain in a state of panic over Trump, with some having already fled the country or are considering doing so in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s keeping me up at night [worrying] for myself and the wider community, especially the transgender community,\u201dKirsten Schaffer, executive director of Women in Film, told TheWrap. \u201cThere were more guardrails last time: [Trump] didn\u2019t have the House, Senate and judiciary.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think there will be a much bigger exodus from America this time around,\u201d&nbsp;screenwriter Brent Hartinger, who left the country in 2017 after Trump was elected the first time, told the outlet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trump just keeps winning, as he got two celebrity sexual degenerates to leave the country.
