It’s possible that legislation could be passed to where you’re only allowed to have custodial wallets managed by a third party, and as we say in Bitcoin, if it’s not your keys (self-custody), it’s not your Bitcoin. Your cryptocurrency could then be hacked if the third party’s security practices aren’t solid or a group of employees misbehave, or the government could seize your cryptocurrency. And there was a time that gold was outlawed by the federal government, where you had to sell your gold to the government at a set price (though not all did). And the government taking your assets in this information age is much more serious, especially when we’re looking at possibly the worst world depression ever seen. So it would seem that Kentucky is trying to attract cryptocurrency businesses by passing favorable legislation like us here in Wyoming.

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/news/kentucky-senate-passes-bill-protecting-bitcoin-self-custody-rights

Legislation ensuring Bitcoin self-custody rights and protecting mining now heads to the Governor’s desk for final approval.

By Nik

Yesterday evening, the Kentucky Senate unanimously passed a bill aimed at protecting Bitcoin self-custody rights and digital asset mining operations.
