If shipping rates could properly adjust, things would be even more expensive in these far left states, and rightly so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdllife.com\/2025\/daimler-stops-selling-diesel-powered-semi-trucks-in-oregon-due-to-new-environmental-rule-per-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/cdllife.com\/2025\/daimler-stops-selling-diesel-powered-semi-trucks-in-oregon-due-to-new-environmental-rule-per-report\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-divider ub_divider ub-divider-orientation-horizontal\" id=\"ub_divider_3f52baf4-493b-456e-97d5-d0b1029fac2e\"><div class=\"ub_divider_wrapper\" style=\"position: relative; margin-bottom: 2px; width: 100%; height: 2px; \" data-divider-alignment=\"center\"><div class=\"ub_divider_line\" style=\"border-top: 2px solid #ccc; margin-top: 2px; \"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p>By Ashley<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) has stopped selling heavy duty diesel trucks in Oregon over concerns that doing so would violate a new law, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/image-23.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10288\" style=\"width:404px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/image-23.png 640w, https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/image-23-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On December 20, 2024, Portland, Oregon-headquartered DTNA issued a memo to dealerships in Oregon announcing that the truck maker would not be selling diesel trucks in the state for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DTNA memo obtained by local outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wweek.com\/news\/2025\/01\/08\/oregons-new-electric-truck-rule-is-disrupting-oregons-transportation-industry\/\">Willamette Week<\/a> states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Effective immediately, DTNA is pausing all orders for new internal combustion vehicles intended for registration in Oregon.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The outlet reports that the decision to pause diesel truck sales in Oregon comes as a result of uncertainty over the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality\u2019s (DEQ) Advanced Clean Trucks Rule that went into effect on January 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/image-24-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/image-24-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/image-24-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/image-24-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/jasonsblog.ddns.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/image-24.png 1366w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Modeled after a similar rule in California, Oregon\u2019s version of the Advanced Clean Trucks Rule requires that 7% of new Class 8 heavy trucks that a manufacturer sells in Oregon in 2025 must be electric-powered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DTNA reportedly wasn\u2019t clear how the electric trucks credits would be counted, so rather than run afoul of the rule, the truck maker has opted to pause sales until Oregon DEQ can provide clarification to avoid penalties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Oregon DEQ says that it is working to clear up any confusion with DTNA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>That&#8217;s what the woke state gets.
